- Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC)
As per the guidelines of National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) has been set up in the college. Quality enhancement being an incessant process, IQAC is an indispensable part of SDCW. It initiates, plans and supervises various activities that are necessary to increase the quality of the education imparted in our institution.

Sustenance through quality inculcation is achieved by following the seven parameters given by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).
- Staff Advisory Committee
Senior staff members conceive policies regarding academics, cultural activities and sports. The decision taken by the board is final.
- Co-curricular Activities
Extracurricular activities mirror the academic knowledge of the students by engaging their leisure time. The following clubs cater to the cultural, dramatic and other co-curricular needs of the students:

- Sports
Students are motivated for active participation in the sports events organized by the college, Panjab University and Punjab Government. SDCW boasts of the provision of sports in the indoor stadium where free karate classes are also given to the interested students to build up their self-defense skills.
- Health and Yoga Club
Working on the motto of ‘health is wealth’, Health and Yoga Club zealously organize many events for the mental and physical fitness of the students. From live yoga sessions to yoga quiz conducted online during the pandemic, this club never shuns from aiding the pupils to ebb away their stress and exhaustion.
- Sanitation and Campus Beautification
SDCW is now a Recognized Social Entrepreneurship, Swachhta & Rural Engagement Cell (SES REC) Institution. Sanitization against COVID-19 and dengue is done on alternative days in the campus. Red dustbins have been inserted in the college for disposing of masks, gloves, used tissue papers etc. RO system for pure water is also facilitated. Well-equipped harvesting method is carried out in the college to prevent wastage of water. Drainage pipes are properly sanitized. A check is kept on littering and greenery is maintained in the premises.
- Swachh Bharat Abhiyan
Swachh Bharat Abhiyan is a campaign initiated by the Government of India. The role of this campaign is to maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the public placed. To fulfill this objective, NCC and NSS units of SDCW work in unification.
- NCC (National Cadet Corps)
A platoon of NCC has been maintained since 2007 to inculcate cadets with leadership, character, discipline, commandership and nationalism. S.D College NCC Unit belongs to 5Pb Girls BN NCC, Moga and has a total strength of 53 Cadets. This unit helps the students to establish their career in the Indian Army. Students who wish to join NCC should contact the teacher incharge Lt. RamanpreetKaur, NCC Officer.
- NSS (National Service Scheme)
NSS develops empathy in the students by letting them volunteer for social services by working in rural and urban areas, emergency relief, institutional works, campus projects etc. The college has one N.S.S. unit comprising 100 volunteers under two program officers.
- Eco Club
The primary goal of Eco Club is to update the students about keeping the environment clean through various activities. Additionally, the pupils are motivated not to contaminate the environment in any form.
- Red Ribbon/Community Development Cell
In collaboration with Red Cross Society, Moga, Red Cross Unit of SDCW strives to collect donations for the physically disabled and other needy people. This unit works tirelessly to develop the community by informing the students of maladies like cancer and AIDS along with the prevailing social evils such as female feticide, gender inequality and child labor.
- Parents-Teachers Association
Parents-Teachers meetings are conducted in every semester to make the parents aware of their ward’s performance and progress, to establish a secure bond between the parents and the teachers and to keep an open forum for the parents to provide the college with their feedback.
- Placement Cell and Career Counseling Cell
Seminars are held to acquaint the students with latest opportunities in education. Extension lectures are arranged in collaboration with Employment Exchange. Campus interviews are also organized for the students of the final year.
- Grievance Redressal and Sexual Harassment Cell
Grievance Redressal and Sexual Harassment Cell has been set up to provide a mechanism for redressing the grievances of the students to ensure protection of women against sexual harassment and other problems in the institution.
- Alumni Association
Alumni are registered to:
(1) Provide opportunity to connect former students with each other and the college.
(2) Foster the spirit of brotherhood and comradeship among the alumni.
(3) Arrange alumni meetings to receive their feedback regarding college.
(4) Encourage alumni support for the promotion of the college.
- Multimedia Shows
A multimedia show is an event where several forms of media such as audio, video, light etc. are included. Show laser projections, as beams, graphics, and texts are combined with effects like fire, pyrotechnics, water, video projections, music and the like. All these effects create impressive multimedia shows.
- Youth Welfare Department
The Youth Welfare Department prepares the students to participate in activities organized by Punjab Government, Yuvak Sewawan Vibhag, Moga and cultural programs arranged by the college. It takes active part in Zonal and Inter-Zonal Youth Festivals of Punjab University, Chandigarh and bags a large number of prizes every time.
- Legal Literacy and Equal Opportunity Cell
This cell aims to provide knowledge about human rights and duties to the pupils of the institution. Besides, it strives to create a non-discriminative environment for everyone irrespective of their caste, religion, capability and region. Furthermore, this cell gives financial aid to SC/ST.
- Brilliant Students Club
In this club, students who show extraordinary language in academics and non-academics are encouraged by the teachers to participate in various activities so that their energy can be properly channelized. Winners of meritorious and cultural items find it advantageous while applying for higher education or job.
- Student Welfare and Administration
Student Welfare and Administration facilitates welfare activities for the students to nurture their mental, physical and cultural growth. This administration aims at the personality enhancement of the pupils, especially in building the confidence among students by giving them opportunities to anchor at various events and to organize some functions.
- Library Advisory Committee and Planning Board
The Library Advisory Committee and Planning Board make recommendations and plans accordingly to ensure all round development of the library. All the decisions are taken with a view to enrich the library resources and to improve the library services. Every decision taken is subject to the approval of the Principal.
- Examination Board
Examination Board toils to prepare the students for final exams by conducting House Examination for every course. Internal assessment, in our institution, is based on the output of these exams. After evaluating the exams, extra classes are also arranged if the need is felt to do so.
- Higher Education for Person with Special Needs (HEPSN)
S.D. College for Women, Moga is dedicated to providing full accessibility to all of its programs and services for individuals with disabilities. Part of this goal includes:
(1) The provision of wheel chair for physically impaired.
(2) Keeping in mind the adjustment and psychological problems faced by some of the physically challenged students, counseling services are also provided.
(3) Provision of ramp facility.
(4) Classrooms have been reserved for physically challenged pupils.
(5) Easy accessibility of washrooms is also ensured.
(6) Fees concessions or scholarships are also provided.
- Anti-Ragging Cell
As per the UGC regulations on curbing the menace of Ragging in Higher Educational Institutions, 2009, Anti-Ragging Cell maintains ragging free environment in the college premises. Zero tolerance policy has been adopted. The main objectives of this cell are:
(1) To root out ragging from college.
(2) To aware the students of grievous injuries and psychological trauma that accompanies ragging.
(3) To keep a vigil over ragging so as to curb its occurrence and recurrence.
(4) To deal with the incidents of ragging brought to our notice promptly and stringently.
(5) To generate a disciplined atmosphere in the college by sending a clear message that every act of ragging is reprehensible.
- Central Students Association and Discipline Committee
Central Students Association and Discipline Committee are formed by selecting two or three students from each class who work as class representatives (CRs). Any issues related to classes/students/college are conveyed to the respective authority by the CRs. Some students become members of IQAC and participate in decision making. These students shoulder the responsibility of maintaining discipline in the college events.
- Tutorial Meetings
To ensure a better liaison between the teachers and the students, the students are divided into tutorial groups. Each group is placed under the charge of lecturer, who acts as their guardian and provides them with requisite guidance in studies, discipline and other activities. Tutorial group meetings are held fortnightly. Attendance is compulsory. Students are also imparted moral education in these meetings.
- Educational Trips and Tours
Educational trips and tours are regular features of the college. Trips are organized to famous educational centers in the country under the guidance and supervision of the college staff. During these trips managerial skills are developed through putting more responsibility on their shoulders. Leadership development is also promoted through group management by the students.
- Academic Development Cell
Academic development cell looks after the academic enhancement by identifying new courses, and by preparing proposals for U.G.C. schemes.
- E-Waste Management Committee
Commenced on November 23, 2020, E-Waste Management Committee is working to dispose of e-waste properly and to do so four dustbins have been installed, and a separate store room has been maintained. In addition to this, monthly activities are carried out to aware the students of e-waste and its disposal. At regular intervals, this waste is sold to a vendor.
