The college has an Advisory Cum planning board which formulates policies on matters relating to academics cultural and sports. Senior staff members are included in it. The decision taken by the board is final.


In the modern concept of learning, co-curricular activities occupy a pivotal role in the educational set up of an institution. In order to offer the students ample opportunities for the gainful employment of their leisure hours as also to provide them proper and wholesome outlet for their exuberant energy, considerable stress is laid in the college on co-curricular activities. For this purpose, the following societies/clubs are organised which cater to the cultural, dramatic and other co-curricular needs of the students.

NCC (National Cadet Corps)

The college started NCC from the session 2007-2008. The college maintains one platoon of NCC. It aims at the development of leadership, character, discipline, commandership and the ideal of National Service. NCC cadets, a force of discipline and trained man power, which in a state of emergency would assist the country. Students who wish to join NCC should contact to the teacher incharge, Lt. Ramanpreet Kaur, NCC Officer.

NSS (National Service Scheme)

N.S.S has been started with the object of involving the youth of the country in task of rendering social service to the nation. It provides various types of projects like work in rural and urban areas, emergency relief, institutional work, campus projects and literacy campaign etc. The college has one N.S.S. units comprising 100 volunteers under two programme officers.

Red Cross

The college has Red cross unit also. It is registered with Red Cross Society. It collects donations for physically handicapped and other needy people. It also organizes First Aid Camps & Blood Donation Camps.


To ensure a better liasion between the teachers and the students, the students are divided into tutorial groups. Each group is placed under the charge of lecturer, who acts as their guardian and provides them with requisite guidance in studies, discipline and other activities. Tutorial group meetings are held fortnightly. Attendance is compulsory. Students are also imparted moral education in these meetings.


Educational trips and tours are regular features of the college. Trips are organized to famous educational centres in the country under the guidance and supervision of the college staff. During these trips managerial skills are developed through putting more responsibility on their shoulders. Leadership development is also promoted through group management by the students.


In order to involve the parents in the welfare of the wards and to keep them abreast of the progress in the studies of the wards, parents teacher meeting is held after every 2months during the session. The parents can discuss all matters concerning their wards with the teachers in an atmosphere of cordiality and understanding.


Under UGC scheme, remedial courses are run in the college for the benefit of both brilliant and weak students. The college discourages private coaching and needy students are advised to benefit from this scheme. These courses are organised free of cost.


Academic development cell looks after the academic enhancement by identifying new courses, preparing proposals for U.G.C. schemes.


It is rendering useful service to the students. Seminars held to acquaint the students with latest trends and opportunities in education. Extension lectures are arranged in collaboration with Employment Exchange.


Grievance Redressal Cell has been set up in the college. Student are advised to bring their genuine grievances to the notice of the incharge Grievance Cell.


We are pleased to inform that alumni association has been formed by the college. The aims of the association include

  Fostering the spirit of brotherhood and comradeship among the alumni
  Raising funds for welfare and other schemes in the college.
  Providing a forum for the alumni for exchange of ideas on educational, cultural, social and academic issues.


Youth Welfare Department prepares the students the students for various competitions and co-curricular activities. It takes active part in Zonal and Inter-Zonal Youth Festivals of Punjab Uni. Chd. and bags a large number of prizes every time..


In pursuance of the National Action Plan of NAAC, the college has formed IQAC, which has the potential become a vehicle for ushering in the quality by working out intervention strategies to remove deficiencies and enhance quality.
